Mačkov Kamen

On a mountain Jagodnja, there is Mačkov Kamen, 12 km fara scene of Serbian and Austro-Hungarian army during the First World War. In memory of these glorious days, a crypt of granite blocks in a form of a chapel with a bell tower.

A famous Serbian architect, Momir Korunović made a project for this monument. Ljuba Jovanović was a president for a setting of the monument on Mačkov kamen. He was president of the National Assembly of Serbia. A vice-president was Đorđe Vajfert a governor of National Bank and Dr Arčibald Rajs was a general secretary.

The space on which the memorial charnel was built on Mačkov kamen is a significant excursion site in the Municipality of Krupanj. A platform covered with medicinal herbs, mountain flowers, mushrooms, evergreen and deciduous forests with many species of wild animals, paths for skiing, sledding and walking is suitable for development of summer and winter tourism.
